Not another Microbiome Test

Actionable results for more personalized interventions. No more generic signs of "dysbiosis” but specific areas that you can intervene in.

Discover the root of your patients' gut problems

Analyzing the microbiome of your patients is becoming increasingly important to tailor an intervention to their needs.

Whether you are a Nutritionist, a Naturopath, a Functional Medicine practitioner, a Gastroenterologist, or a Clinician who integrates a system biology approach into your practice, knowing the bacterial composition in your patient's gut allows you to provide a more personalized treatment.

We are now in the era of microbiome testing, but not all available tests are clinically useful and actionable! Knowing that your patient has dysbiosis won’t make a significant difference in your clinical decisions unless you know exactly where the problem lies.

The GutID tests offer you the possibility to focus on specific areas of clinical relevance, such as the type and abundance of protective bacteria, the precise identification of species and strains that may cause abnormal inflammatory and immune responses, the likelihood that some bacteria may affect specific biological pathways (what we now call the “gut axes”) and so on.

These tests will enable you to learn that your patient’s issues, ranging from gastrointestinal symptoms to problems that seem inexplicable, may be caused by very unusual bacteria, rarely observed before, or simply by an abnormal abundance of bacteria, even of those traditionally regarded as beneficial (for example, probiotic species).

What Does a Healthy Microbiome Look Like?

The GutID test can now define what a "normal" microbiome profile should look like, since some bacteria or combination of bacteria tend to be present in almost everyone.

In addition, it is not simply the presence of specific bacteria, but rather their abnormal abundance that makes the difference between having a few annoying symptoms and being at risk for chronic degenerative disorders.

While we identify and measure potentially beneficial and detrimental species according to biological areas of interest, we deliberately avoid rigidly categorizing bacteria as either good or bad. Our pilot studies have demonstrated that any bacterium abnormally out of range may cause problems. Further, bacteria may negatively affect one function or risk factor, but may be protective in other areas.

Here are a few key differences between our GutID tests and those currently available on the market

  • Unprecedented and unmatched accuracy in the identification of bacterial species and strains: no matter what "odd" bacteria is in your patient's gut, we will "fingerprint" it!

  • Possibility of tracking specific strains, whether you are interested in determining how a pathogen or pathobiont is evolving or how well probiotics are colonizing the microbiome of your patient.

  • Clinically oriented analysis of the results so that you can target your intervention accordingly. Also included are practical suggestions for scientifically sound interventions.

  • Easy-to-use tables with the main effects of drugs, supplements and food on microbiome composition.
